Hummus & Pita Chips

Last week Val at More Than Burnt Toast inspired me to write about lebanese cuisine. She made couple recipes from our famous Ricardo Larivée, that now has his show on Food Network Canada.

Ricardo is a cook and food journalism well know in Quebec. He has a daily show on Radio-Canada. I've been collecting his magazines, for few years now, and I own his cookbook. He is new at Food Network Canada. He's gaining in popularity all across Canada. If you have a chance to buy one of his magazines you'll be amazed by the beautiful pictures and the great recipes. All can be done with ingredients you'll find at your supermarket or your farmers market.

I like to prepare snacks for after school. My two teenage boys have been requesting hummus. That's their 'junk food'. They like to snack on healthy food. So I went thru my pile of Ricardo's magazines and decided to try his hummus recipe. To go along, what better than pita chips? I like my pita chips with a thin layer of olive oil and I sprinkly on some zaatar. The kids were happy!

  20. Love homemade pita chips & hummus! My daughter eats it as a snack as well. We make our own pita chips too, lately we've been making them out of tomato basil flatbreads for some extra kick!
