Chocolate Cupcakes

Chocolate Cupcakes

What a week. Lot's have been going on. The house is clean, the papers are signed and tomorrow the house will be listed on MLS. We hope to sell and move back East at the end of the school year. My son is graduating in June, so we will not be ready before.

In the past 20 yrs I have not stay more than five years at the same place. It's an important move because we need to find a place that we will finally call home. Hopefully we will be choosing the right location and that the kids will enjoy their new life. This has not been easy to be born and raised in a military family. Always moving, going to a new school, making new friends. My youngest son had it hard, for a year, when we moved here. Now everything is going better, he has a girlfriend, plays lot's of hockey and his life will change again soon. It's not always easy to go thru those moments in life. That's why we do have to make the right choice.

So tonight is our last night with my husband. Tomorrow he is going to fly to Africa for work. He will be back in a month. For his last night he asked for pizza and I decided to make chocolate cupcakes because he is going to miss Valentine day with us.

Those are delicious. We finish them up with a good layer of icing.

I like Martha Stewart One-Bowl Chocolate Cupcakes recipe.

  5. Oh Helen, would your children ever want to leave your home....with treats like this one. I am sure your family will find the move challenging, but when you have a strong foundation(love) your children will not only survive, but will be enriched by the experience.

  6. Wowo super delicious cupcakes.
I should make these when my daughter and her friends come here for doing their school work.
Looks like you have moved a lot.
    I have never done that.
I moved from my parents place after getting married and has been staying here for the last 18 years.

  9. Oh I do wish you luck too. I know how hard it it to move and start anew in places as I have moved, like you, a lot in my life. We are in the process of looking for our first home, a place we hope to stay in more than 5 years ha ha.
Must be hard to be away from your hubby for so long...what a nice send off though: pizza & cupcakes. Very sweet.

  20. Dear Helene,

Beautiful cupcakes, I'm sure your husband will be missing them a lot during this month he will be away. I know how it is... we are planning also to move soon, but we will wait for our son to finish school first, one more year. Then we are moving to the seaside here in UK or straight the Caribbean... depending from situation there.
I apologize for not visiting your blog for a while now, but I have good excuse, on 14th of January I got married. The cake you were commenting on was actually my wedding cake made with help of my sister and sister in low, we were finishing it on the day of wedding, it was crazy day... but we survived :)
    Have a wonderful day, Margot

I have moved a lot too in my life, I've lived in 2 different countries and 7 different states within the USA. I know my husband and I have been discussing finding our "home" too. I hope you find yours! Best of luck!

  23. Tes cupcakes sont très attirants. Maintenant, bon courage à ton conjoint, à toi et à ton fiston pour cette absence - travail.

  24. My sister has shared the same sentiments about living in a military family. Her marriage to a military husband meant moving around all the time, never feeling there was a sense of home. She actually even wrote a college paper on it.
A month will fly by very quickly and you and your husband will be together again before you know it!
