Mango Kulfi Cheesecake in Kraft Kitchens

On Wednesday I was invited to attend the Kraft My Way Event in Kraft Kitchens in Toronto, ON. We were group of 12 food bloggers, ladies in social media and web magazine editors. I had been a follower of Ruth from Once Upon A Feast for a long time and had the privilege to finally meet her.

Upon arrival we were greeted by a great team of ladies working in the Kraft Kitchen and a lovely table of delicious food for breakfast. Then we had the pleasure to meet M. Bianco, the President of Kraft Canada. He took the time to address us and to listen to our concerns in the food industry.

On March 22nd Kraft Canada has entered the world of Twitter. We were all excited to hear about it and everyone of us received an apron with our Twitter username. You can follow Kraft Canada @KraftCanada. During the day we discussed the importance of social media and we had the chance to share our opinion with them. The were really interested in hearing what we had to say. Social media is here to stay and they are evolving in this direction.

Martha Stewart's 1-2-3-4 Lemon Cake

1-2-3-4 Lemon Cake, Martha Stewart

On March 10 it was my mom 70th Birthday.  We finally celebrated her, the past week-end, on March 19.  It's always a challenge, in my family, to find a date where we can all meet.  We all live apart and are busy with children, family, careers.  The best gift that we could offer my mom was to be all together, with our spouses and her grandchildren for this special day.  When we were planning the event we decided that each of us, the four children, would either make an appetizer, an entrée or dessert for Dinner.  It's no surprise to anyone that they asked me to bring dessert.  My mom loves strawberries, lemon, whipped cream.  It took me two days to finally decide on this cake from Martha Stewart the 1-2-3-4 Lemon Cake.  It's an old-fashioned cake that has one cup butter, two cups of sugar, three cups of flour and four eggs.  That's why they named it 1-2-3-4 Lemon Cake.

Magnolia Bakery Cupcakes

Magnolia Bakery Cupcakes & Cookies

My son Maxime came for Dinner, last night, with his friend Dylan. We had a great meal. We started with a Roasted Pear Salad with Chèvre and Fig Vinaigrette followed by a Chicken Curry and a good bottle of Ménage à Trois a red wine from California.

Dylan was in New York during the week-end and went to Magnolia Bakery to buy dessert for Dinner. He then carefully boarded his flight with the treats in a nice Magnolia Bakery bag. That was really nice of him. I have heard of Magnolia Bakery before but never had the chance to go. I will make sure I do on my next trip to New York. I have the cookbook but never baked from it yet. Last night we tasted the Vanilla, Red Velvet and Chocolate Cupcakes. All three were light and moist. I will be baking soon from the cookbook. Will probably try the Magnolia Vanilla Cupcakes with the Vanilla Buttercream first.

In February I traveled to Vegas with my two oldest and then to Orlando with my youngest son. Will do some reviews on Vegas soon.
