Nathalie's Melt-in-Your Mouth Chocolate Cake

Nathalie's Melt-in-Your Mouth Chocolate Cake

We were invited for Dinner at my sister's place, in Montreal, during our vacation in August. She served this Trish Deseine dessert from her Chocolate cookbook. If you don't have this cookbook I strongly suggest buying it. The pictures are mouthwatering. Another recipe that is worth buying the book alone is Jean-Francois's Stuck Cake.

This Nathalie's Melt-in-Your Mouth Chocolate Cake has only five ingredients, one bowl, and baked in 22 minutes. That simple. You can serve it with fresh fruits, whipped cream or decorate it with powdered sugar. Trish Deseine suggest that you bake it the day before or the morning for the evening. I did bake it about four hours before serving it and it was delicious. The center of the cake is still gooey. It is important to use the best-quality dark chocolate that you can find for this cake.

Peanut Butter Brownies

Peanut Butter Brownies

The news came when I was reading a post on one of my favourite blogs titled: Video for Jennifer Perillo: Mikey’s Peanut Butter Pie.

I did not know Jennifer but I know a lot of people that have lost someone precious in their life, including me. Nothing prepares you for the emotional shock of losing someone close to you. You wake up one morning and you wish it was bad dream. The days following the news are filled with anger, sadness, guilt, denial and you are not ready to accept this lost. People will tell you that life must go on but sometimes you feel that life has stopped. Everyone will react different to a lost. It may take years to heal. Sometimes the pain will never go away. You learn to cope with it. Holidays, birthdays will never be the same. When life takes that precious person away from your life you feel so empty. You wish that this day had never come. You start thinking about what you should have done with this person, what you should have told her. Sadly you can’t go back in time. Hopefully you will take some time, today, to reflect on your life and to cherish your loved ones. Take the time to tell them that you love them. Hug them because that could be the last hug that you will ever give them.

I’ve baked those peanut butter brownies for Mikey and for everyone that I have lost in my life.
