I am so excited to be part of a new project: JC100. Culinary icon Julia Child would have turned 100 years old on August 15th of this year. The project involves restaurants, chefs, bookstores, and bloggers, all celebrating Julia and her legacy. Being part of the JC100 project means that each Monday, in the 100 days leading up to Julia's birthday (starting today), we will receive one special JC100 recipe. Our readers will have the chance to cook along and will have access to the recipe on Facebook every Thursdays.
Lunch today was ready in less than two minutes today. That’s the time it took me to whisk a vinaigrette for my salad and make the first recipe from the JC100: Julia's classic Omelette Roulée (Rolled Omelette).
The two recipes go well together, especially for those crazy, busy days. I did not quite mastered the 'roulée' technique and I think that it will come with practice. The omelette had a nice buttery flavor and just the right amount of salt. I served the omelette with grated cheese on top.
