We just came back from a nice camping vacation. We did not go too far and we visited family and friends. This Grilled Brie and Apple Sandwich is quick to prepare, which I love when I go camping, and it's delicious. I did serve it with a Cucumber Salad from Canadian Living.
You can pair the Grilled Brie and Apple Sandwich with a Kronenbourg 1664 beer, the notes of the of honey and pear pair well with the slight sweetness of the Brie and of the acidity in the apple.
Kronenbourg 1664 is brewed with choice ingredients: water from the Vosges Mountains; the Strisselspalt hop - exclusive to the Alsace region - and nicknamed the Caviar of hops; and finally the pale malt combination of which gives Kronenbourg 1664 its warm golden colour, its balanced flavour and its floral aromas.
For the last 60 years, Kronenbourg 1664 has been enticing taste buds around the globe with its perfect balance of sweetness - hints of Mirabelle plums, dried apricots, honey and pears. Today, Kronenbourg 1664 brings this array of flavours from the glass to the dinner table.
Kronenbourg 1664 is the only beer to have won a gold medal at the prestigious International brewing awards twice in 2004 and 2005. Moreover, the Brandz report from the Milward Brown has shown that Kronenbourg 1664 has entered the 'premier league' moving from the 12 to number 10 fastest growing beer brands in the world. Kronenbourg 1664 can now be enjoyed in over 50 countries.
In 2008 Carlsberg Breweries took on control for the Kronenbourg 1664 brand as part of the acquisition of Scottish and Newcastle. Geographic expansion and proposition has led the brand to a leading position in the International Premium beer market.
