My dad has a sweet tooth. When he visits us he likes to help with anything that needs to be done in the house. Last year we finished our basement and he came help us for four days. You can't stop him. He works from morning to night. He owned a farm and was always a hard worker. I remember that I had to take my bike, at lunchtime, find him on the farm and bring him a lunch. I would sit down with him and wait until he was done to go back home. If I did not bring him a lunch he would not take the time to stop. When he visits us I bake something in the morning. Then I force him to take a break and eat my dessert.
One of his favorite fruit is blueberry. He will eat blueberries in any dessert. He even carefully place blueberries in a bowl, add pieces of bread, some maple syrup and then pour milk on top of it. I know that if I make something with blueberries he will be happy. This Blueberry Cornmeal Cobbler will be a perfect dessert to bake next time he comes home.
This dessert is featured on the cover of the Canadian Living August magazine. Here's a link to the full recipe for the Blueberry Cornmeal Cobbler.
