When I go to Subway for lunch I like the Veggie Delite sandwich. It always satisfies me for the afternoon. I like that it is low fat, tastes good, and it's healthy. I have teamed up with Subway Canada and took the pledge to Commit to Fit. In the next six weeks I will be sharing my progress on social media.
I know how to be fit and healthy because I was in the military and physical activity was part of our daily routine. When I left the military, years ago, my journey to fitness took another turn. Over the years I had a few injuries, and that stopped me from being active. I still have to deal with a bad knee and can't do all the sports that I would like to do.
When the opportunity came to start afresh and be part of #CarlsCrew I did not hesitate one second. I can't run but can walk. Our challenge for this week is to walk 20 minutes a day. I usually take longer walks but I find that I don't actually commit to do it everyday. By being part of this team, I will get all the encouragement I need and there will be no excuses. Over the long run I will be the one that will benefit from doing regular physical activity. It's important to take small steps towards your goal. Six weeks is perfect for me for a change of lifestyle. Next week we will have a new challenge and I will share it with you.
