After spending the afternoon volunteering at the food bank I needed to eat or drink something that would give me energy to last until supper. I whipped up this Strawberry-Banana Smoothie with Matcha Green Tea. I always make my smoothies with Almond Breeze. I buy a case of six when I shop at Costco. I want to make sure I have some in the house for my cooking and baking.
I like to make different recipes and if you feel like it you could try this Green Smoothie with kale. When you start drinking smoothies your skin will look healthier. When you pay attention to your diet by adding fruits, veggies, chia seeds etc in your blender you will feel good inside out. You will also feel a boost of energy during the day. My son loves them after his workout.
You might be curious as to why I use Almond Breeze instead of milk. The answer is simply that I love the creamy taste and the fact that it's made with real almonds. I pour it over cereals, use it in my baked goods instead of milk, and I even made a dark chocolate mousse with Almond Breeze and it was delicious. This Strawberry Loaf with Lemon Glaze was a hit during the summer with my family. You should try it.
For my smoothie today I added Chia Seeds because they are loaded with antioxidants, they are high in healthy protein and Omega-3 fatty acids. It's a superfood that you should add to your diet. It's never too late to start to eat and drink healthier and you will feel mentally and physically better.
