Spiced Apple Cake with a Brown Sugar Sauce and Spiced Whipped Cream Recipe

Spiced Apple Cake with a Brown Sugar Sauce and Spiced Whipped Cream

This week, after a long walk in the woods, I made the best Spiced Apple Cake with a Brown Sugar Sauce and Spiced Whipped Cream. My husband could not wait for me to finish taking my pictures of my cake to have a big piece. By the look of his face I knew that the cake was good. This cake is so moist and it has just the right amount of spices. It's best to serve warm but if you have some cake left for breakfast the next day, don't hesitate to eat your cake at room temperature. It will be as good, as long as you warm the brown sugar sauce in the microwave before serving.  We will be hosting my family on New Year's Eve and I think they will enjoy this dessert. They have a sweet tooth and my dad loves whipped cream. Who doesn't?

A couple weeks ago I received from World Kitchen this Baker's Secret 5-Piece Easy Store Bakeware Set. If you have bakers on your holiday list it would be a nice gift to offer. You could also give this set to someone that lives in an apartment. What I like about this set is that is does not take space and it's easy to store because each shape fits inside the next larger size. This set is durable, long-lasting and has a superior nonstick surface. You should not wait long before buying one for yourself! It's convenient and it has 5 pieces that I use all the time:

-a small cookie sheet
-one 8-inch square pan
-a medium loaf pan
-a muffins pan
-a 9x13-inch long pan.

With this set you'll be ready to bake anything like cookies, brownies, banana bread, muffins and squares, just to name a few. The possibilities are endless!

They also sent me this Baker's Secret Round Cake Pan 8-inch in Red Velvet. Look at the color, it's beautiful. You could bake a cake for a friend or a family member and bring the cake in the pan. That would make a great hostess gift!

5- Spread the batter into the pan. Bake at 350F for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the centre of the cake comes out clean. Remove from the oven, let cool at room temperature for 15 minutes. Unmould on a wire rack.
6- Brown Sugar Sauce: Place the brown sugar, sugar and cream in a medium saucepan. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, until sugars are dissolved and sauce has thickened, about 10 minutes. Remove from heat.
