Chicken with Wine and Cream Sauce Recipe

Who does not get a bit panicky when guests are coming? Relax, open a bottle of white wine, make this yummy Knorr Chicken with Wine and Cream Sauce and drink the rest of the bottle. When guests arrive at your doorstep I guarantee that you will be ready to entertain them and the house will smell divine.

The first time we made this dish was when Sandi Richard came and cooked with us in La Cuisine d'Hélène. You can read all about it here. And in this blog posts I am sharing some pictures that my daughter took that day.

This dish was so good that during the week-end I decided to make it again. When Sandy came my son Mathieu made the dish with his friend Andrew. What I like about this recipe is that your family can get involved in the kitchen. You could prepare all the ingredients the night before and the first person that comes home can start Dinner.

15 ml olive oil
625g boneless, skinless chicken thighs
1/2 onion, sliced
2 cloves garlic
300g cremini mushrooms, sliced
250 ml white wine
60 ml heavy cream
1 tub Knorr Homestyle Stock Reduced Sodium Chicken
30 ml fresh basil leaves

1- Heat olive oil in a nonstick skillet. Add chicken and brown.
2- Remove chicken and set aside.
3- In the same pan, cook onion until tender, about 2 minutes. Add the garlic, mushrooms and cook, until all vegetables are tender, about 2 minutes.
4- Stir in wine and cream and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer until reduced, about 3 minutes. Stir the chicken stock. Add chicken and simmer, covered, until the chicken is cook.
5- To serve: stir in basil. Serve over rice.
