Hot Cheese Dip with Beans Recipe

I'm always looking at different ingredients to reduce calories in my favorite recipes. I was thinking, the other day, about how I could make one of my hot cheese dips with less fat. When I make this Hot Cheese dip I usually add one cup of mayonnaise, yes one cup! That's a lot but it makes the dip creamy. This time I used cottage cheese instead of mayonnaise.

Because I wanted the dip to be nutritious I added black beans and chopped vegetables. My family enjoyed this dip a lot and could not figure out what was the secret ingredient. They were surprised when I told them it was cottage cheese. The dip was gone in no time and I am satisfy that I could create this recipe without losing flavor.

250 ml Nordica 2% Cottage Cheese
8 on. light spreadable cream cheese
250 ml light Tex-Mex cheese
398 ml black beans, drained and rinsed
5 ml Epicure Lemon Dilly Dip Mix
5 ml Epicure 3 Onion Dip Mix
5 ml Epicure Cheese, Chives & Bacon
Jalapeño, chopped
Tomato, diced
Green onions, chopped
Coriander, chopped

1- Preheat oven to 350F.
2- In a small bowl mix the cottage cheese with the cream cheese.
3- Add the 3 different kind of Epicure dip mix and the black beans. Mix well.
4- Place in a oven safe dish. Cook for 25 minutes.
5- Place two minutes under broil.
6- Top with jalapeño, tomatoes, green onions and coriander. Serve with tortilla chips.
