Instant Pot Sausages with Red Peppers

If you haven't heard of an Instant Pot before you must be living in a cave. The Instant Pot 'smart cooker' was invented in Ottawa. It's the hottest multi-cooker at the moment. People rave about it. Families are getting busier and busier and the Instant Pot will help them make homemade meals fast and tasty. I bought the 9-in-1 which is a pressure-cooker, slow-cooker, rice cooker, steamer, cake maker, food warmer, yogurt maker, sterilizer and has a sauté function.

There are so many recipes that I want to try in my new Instant Pot and today decided to make this Instant Pot Sausages with Red Peppers. It was quick and 


500g Hot Italian Sausages
250 ml water
1 Red pepper, sliced
1/2 red onion, sliced
30 ml olive oil
20 ml Balsamic vinegar
5 ml dried oregano
5 ml dried basilic
4 Green Onions, sliced

1- Pierce the sausages and place in the Instant Pot. Add 250 ml water. Close and lock the lid.
2- Select (Pressure Cook) and then adjust the time to 4 minutes of pressure cooking time.
3- When time is up, press Cancel and turn the steam release handle on the lid to 'Venting' position. After venting remove the sausages and sliced them. Set aside.
4- Remove the water and add the olive oil in the pot. Select (Sauté) and when the oil is hot, this will take about 2 minutes, add the red onion. Sauté, stirring often for 2-3 minutes. Add the sliced red pepper and sauté another minute, stirring continuously. 
5- Add the slices sausages and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sausages begin to brown.
6- Add the Balsamic vinegar, oregano and the basilic and sauté for another minute.
7- Remove the pot and serve with rice and green onions.
